"Se7en" Deadly Sins...

Hi

Have you seen the movie "Se7en" ? If not, watch it. A must watch movie. It's in the IMDB top 100 movies.
Genre:Crime, Drama, Mystery, Thriller...

Story of the movie is based on the 7 deadly sins. If u don't know "what are those 7 deadly sins"...then this blog is for U.

The Seven Deadly Sins, also known as the Capital Vices or Cardinal Sins...

  1. Lust
  2. Gluttony
  3. Greed
  4. Sloth
  5. Wrath
  6. Envy
  7. Pride
Lust
Lust or lechery is usually thought of as excessive thoughts or desires of a sexual nature.

Gluttony
Derived from the Latin gluttire, meaning to gulp down or swallow, gluttony (Latin, gula) is the over-indulgence and over-consumption of anything to the point of waste.

Greed
Greed (Latin, avaritia), also known as avarice or covetousness, is, like lust and gluttony, a sin of excess. However, greed is applied to a very excessive or rapacious desire and pursuit of wealth, status, and power.

Sloth
Sloth (Latin,Socordia) is the neglect to take care of something that one should do.It is believed to be the failure to utilize one's talents and gifts.

Wrath
Wrath (Latin, ira), also known as anger or "rage", may be described as inordinate and uncontrolled feelings of hatred and anger.

Envy
Like greed, Envy (Latin, invidia) may be characterized by an insatiable desire; they differ, however, for two main reasons. First, greed is largely associated with material goods, where as envy may apply more generally. Second, those who commit the sin of envy resent that another person has something they perceive themselves as lacking, and wish the other person to be deprived of it.

Pride
Pride (Latin, superbia), or hubris, is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins, and indeed the ultimate source from which the others arise. It is identified as a desire to be more important or attractive than others, failing to acknowledge the good work of others, and excessive love of self.

Related Demons:-
In 1589, Peter Binsfeld paired each of the deadly sins with a demon, who tempted people by means of the associated sin. According toBinsfeld's classification of demons, the pairings are as follows

  • Lucifer: Pride (superbia)
  • Mammon: Greed (avaritia)
  • Asmodeus: Lust (luxuria)
  • Leviathan: Envy (invidia)
  • Beelzebub: Gluttony (gula or gullia)
  • Satan/Amon: Wrath (ira)
  • Belphegor: Sloth (acedia)

According to the serial-killer in this movie, all the people who commits any one of these above sins has no right to live on this earth. If it is ... then how many people will be remaining on this Earth? Only one...M3... :P

Bowling & Howling

Have ever been to a "Bowling Alley"...??? "No"... Then U r missing something...I would say that it's one of the "Too Good" recreational activities. From many weeks, my roommate Vishal has been asking me to give company for going to Bowling Alley. I was not interested at that time as I thought that it would be too costly and boring too. But I said "Ok" to give company,  not to participate. There are few Malls which feature a Bowling Alley.

People would love to imagine, being on the hot seat with a legend like Amitabh Bachchan asking you General knowledge questions, for which you will get money if you answer them correct. What an experience it will be. Oh sorry sorry ... If you don't know what KBC is ... It stands for  " Kaun Banega Crorepati "(who will be the millionaire). The name itself reveals that it is based on UK game show Who wants to be a Millionaire? . [click the links to know more about them] The show was a huge hit ... For reasons like  Anyone can win money in this show who has good General Knowledge and luck in his pocket. Especially for people who are from low income families and educated enough, but don't get chances in their life to prove their worthiness, this show is a hope. This show can bring drastic changes in  lives of those p
